Concert at Domaine du Rayol, The Balkanes Band

"Every summer, the Domaine du Rayol organizes classical and Mediterranean music concerts in an exceptional setting. In the heart of the Jardin des Méditerranées, facing the sea, renowned artists come to interpret the works of the greatest classical composers. The last date is devoted to a concert of Mediterranean music.

Thus, for the 29th edition of Romantic Evenings, the Domaine du Rayol will have the privilege of welcoming Monday, August 21, 2023, at 9 p.m. the BALKANES band, Bulgarian and Balkan polyphony a cappella.

BALKANES was born in 1996 from the meeting of four young women, three Bulgarians and a Frenchwoman, brought together to create an original repertoire from the traditional songs of the Balkans.

Sometimes melancholic or mischievous, they subtly alternate the angelic purity of their voices and the frenzied rhythms of the melodies to clear the rich Bulgarian repertoire. Four female voices with fascinating timbres intertwine, soar, brush the peaks or slide towards the darkest bass, to immerse themselves in a shimmering musical universe, from elsewhere.
