Festival Nartelle Nights
Recital: Simon Ghraichy, piano
Programs: Schubert,Liszt, Granados, Albeniz, Manuel M. Ponce and Marquez
Of Lebanese and Mexican origins, Simon Ghraichy was born in Paris. After many trips, he returned to his hometown to complete his musical studies. A pupil of Michel Béroff and Daria Hovora at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, he continued his training with Tuija Hakkila at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Winner of several international prizes, his virtuosity and his clear musical biases allow him to quickly develop an international career.
Thus, he was able to play in venues as prestigious as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York or the Philharmonies of Paris, Berlin and Saint-Petersburg.
Essentially romantic at the start, his discography includes several albums devoted to Liszt and Schumann. From his exclusive collaboration with the Deutsche Gramophone label have appeared two discs, Héritages and 33, which also reflect his multiple influences through works by Villa-Lobos, Debussy, Gottschalk, Schumann, Beethoven, Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla and Enrique Granados.
